LBB's

In other locations where I have lived in the past, sparrows were common and often referred to as LBB's or little brown birds. Here they are more of a rarity, flying through in the spring and summer months and absent for most of the year.

There are two varieties we see quite often this time of year: the chipping sparrow - seen eating seeds from the rabbit bush in this photo on the left - and the lark sparrow, seen in the two photos below.
Isn't the symmetry of his markings and coloring amazing?
