Battle

 Sometimes it is not about the quality of the photos but rather the story they tell. As previously mentioned, the raven and the eagle do not get along. The raven worries the eagle will eat its young and the eagle, I suspect, gets tired of being harassed by the smaller bird. This day did not start well for either one as they faced off first thing this morning on the crest of the hill.

Eventually the eagle left, only to return later this afternoon. I was outside with the camera so started shooting directly overhead as he flew by.

It did not take long for the raven to see his adversary and come charging in to chase the much bigger bird.  I took shot after shot as the raven swooped and pecked at the eagle, eventually driving him back to higher ground.

Tomorrow they will do it all again!
